I have not seen Suicide Squad either. After Endgame I ultimately decided I was done with the genre on the whole
However, I do like some of Gunn's work (Slither is pretty top notch)

a good work around I once saw was running a delay set to a slapback style with only 1 or 2 repeats and using the reverb just as your length of reverb
the delay acts as the "drip" and the reverb adds the body

sadly, I have not found one spring reverb pedal that gets THAT sound
they all sound neat in their own right but the drippy drip thing is just the domain of the amp tank (imo)
that said, the mosky spring is a inexpensive route (i know you already went with the boss)

another way to add bass lines without an octave is to roll your tone knob to zero and palm mute while playing clean. Ideally on the neck pickup.
