In certain ways, PLURIBUS is reminiscent of Patrick McGoohan's 1967-68 spy-fi series THE PRISONER. Each is about an individual holding out hopelessly against overwhelming pressure to conform. Having survived 16 years of Roman Catholic education, I relate.

If someone has to annex WBD, I think I'd prefer Netflix to the Ellisons and Paramount. I was just amused by how quickly Netflix matter-of-factly announced they were taking over. By the time all the international regulators weigh in, it could take years (assuming it actually happens).
