In certain ways, PLURIBUS is reminiscent of Patrick McGoohan's 1967-68 spy-fi series THE PRISONER. Each is about an individual holding out hopelessly against overwhelming pressure to conform. Having survived 16 years of Roman Catholic education, I relate.

A fine episode of PLURIBUS dropped on Apple TV today. The show takes a bonkers idea -- basically, what if the Body Snatchers' invasion was a success -- and pursues it to extremes with absolute conviction. It dares to be batshit crazy.
