Today, I’m #grateful I can make stuffed (with Romano, breadcrumbs and garlic) artichokes almost as well as my #Sicilian #mother did. #sicilianfood

Today, I'm #grateful for early #morning. I'm awake between 4 & 5 am, & sometimes grouse about it, blaming the dogs or getting older, but I love these quiet hours before the day officially starts and most of the world still slumbers—time to think, read, listen to music and just be. #Thanksgiving2025

Today, I’m #grateful for the alchemical ability to conjure a picture up with mere words. This is from Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome, which I’m now reading. What are you reading?

I got around to finishing MONSTER: The Ed Gein Story on #Netflix. I think it was one of the more brilliant #crime-based series I've ever seen. The final two episodes, in particular, managed to be thought-provoking, horrifying, and strangely poignant. See it? What did you think? #RyanMurphy #Monster

Today, I'm #grateful for #tears. The older I get, the easier I shed them. I don't look at that as evidence of femininity or weakness, but simply as being more in touch with, and closer to, my emotions. They're part of what makes me human...and if that also means makes me a big sissy, then so be it.

Today, I'm #grateful for having had a mom who made me believe, for the first 11 or so years of my life, that my name was not Ricky, but "little bastard," and that she loved me with all her heart.

Today, I'm #grateful for youthful magic moments when I was crazy & vain enough to pose naked for the cover of a magazine. Yes, that's me circa 2002 behind the gas mask.

It’s cold here in the desert this morning—53 degrees, so I made one of my favorite #breakfasts: savory steel cut #oatmeal with scallions, soy sauce and poached #eggs. Topped with a drizzle of #sciracha. What did you have? And how cold of a morning was it where you are?

#Grateful for these wise words, especially now.

Today, I’m #grateful for my grandmother, Grace. She passed away when I was in my early 30s, but her influence on me has never diminished—she lived an example of unfailing #kindness and #compassion. #tbt (pic from July 1982, Deerfield, IL).

"Letting go involves being aware of a feeling, letting it come up, staying with it, and letting it run its course without wanting to make it different or do anything about it. It means simply to let the feeling be there and to focus on letting out the energy behind it."

It's a moment that never gets old. Since my 1st novel OBSESSED was released from Dell in 1991, receiving a #book with my name on the cover has never been less than a giant thrill.

It's a dream made real.

Today, I'm #grateful for the voice social media gives us and ask for wisdom in knowing when and when NOT to use that voice. "Make me a channel of Thy peace, that where there is hatred, let me sow love, or at least not fertilize the hate with my dainty bullshit." (Anne LaMott)
