This is why I haven’t managed to update any of my emulation projects over the last few months. If I can make it through the next 6-7 months alive and hang onto my current productivity/constitution, though, I expect to release some cool shit in 7-9 months. Bear with me!

Pretty sure it’s just making it harder for me to live my life while offering no relief from my relentless awareness of the world around me. I think I need another few dozen infections, or maybe just a good old fashioned lobotomy.

There are a bunch of things you can try, many of which are detailed here: www.richwhitehouse.com/jaguar/index...

I’d bet you could get byte-perfect data back out if you’re willing to accept a relatively low baud rate. Problem is getting the bird to just repeat small segments when you detect an error, so you don’t have to repeat the whole sequence. We can’t get a BMI involved or it’s cheating!

Yeah, I’ve found that prior to the PSX era, source is often lost even for huge first party IP titles where you’d think they’d have known better. It’s way worse than I ever would’ve thought before I started working professionally in that domain.

The PNG makes it sound like he’s devised a way to fully preserve the Huffman/LZ-encoded bits on both sides of the bird transfer, but all he did was make a spectral image representation. It’s all lies, this is not the bird network future I was promised.

Yeah, FFX is supported with anims. I hit every FF from 7 to 15. :) My interest shifted over to emulators, so I never had the compulsion to look at 16, but I know my friend Joschka did do a plugin for 16.

I'm also visualizing damage masks now, and tracking transition frame counts. KI filters all attacks through a 2D matrix, so a player's hit box will gray out whenever the opposing player's attack state fails the damage matrix test.

This difference becomes even more significant as offset increases on the Z axis, such that you notice a difference in where jump attacks connect in relation to the rendered sprites. Air attacks appear to connect at different heights on the Riptor and Orchid stages, for example.

My favorite to-date was “call your boss out for trying to make you perform free labor while on unpaid medical leave.” But to be fair said boss did come from Activision, so I can’t take all the credit.

There were a few more changes in the last week and a half or so since the Patreon release, so it’s probably still worth the update. (especially if you plan to play Val d’Isere)

Yeah, the update is still waiting on Apple’s approval. Usually doesn’t take them too long, I’d expect it sometime in the next 48 hours.

I still haven’t managed to suffer all the way through this one, but I’m making my way through gradually (mostly in the bathroom) with the assistance of saved states and my iOS port.
