Clearly not closely enough. I see what you mean this comment for example is not about developing teaching. But hope during next phase of consultation statements like this will come out

It states that student in Finland do less homework it doesn't say this is preferential, in fact the opposite, says more homework equates to higher test score in maths, it does say like I thought PP kids are disadvantaged by some homework so thanks for this.

My daughters homework required us to walk around town and take pictures of the rock. After reading @ensermark.bsky.social post on AI and homework. Got me thinking, does homework like this widen the PP gap. She really enjoyed today but I wonder how many others were able to complete the homework

For anyone not on the other place a selection of write ups for presentations given at a researchED conference in Belfast earlier in the academic year. They were collated and then shared by the Northern Irish DFE. Link to document can be found here www.education-ni.gov.uk/publications...

There has been a lot of interest in my form time resources, I have 25 schools primary and secondary in UK and abroad trailing them, so thought i would see if i could share the evaluation at a researchED. If not I will be there anyway to hear some great people talk about education

Have I interpreted this wrong. I think the "process" isn't fair because it further disadvantages families that can not afford to get a remark.

I'm working on a crib sheet to support with curriculum coaching. I have used the EEF framework for mechanisms to consider questions for the coach to consider prior to leading a session on an area of curriculum. Still early stages but ran it past some HOD on results day and they liked it

#edusky I have previously shared our new form time activities developing pupils understanding of learning. After recent conversations on here, I have decided to add an introduction lesson on "why working hard is difficult." And link to misconceptions about motivation.

I met with a group of "underachieving year 11s last year" to find out what was wrong. I used target grades to identify them. Turns out I didn't need to here why
1/3
Statistically speaking there will be variation at a pupil level and so the idea that these pupils had a specific issue is unlikely

This graph is clear evidence that measuring pupils against target grades is pointless, this is the range of ks4 outcomes from a large group of pupils with the same ks1 starting point. Thanks Alex. #edsky

Also as part of our push next year to step up pupils understanding of "How learning happens we want to focus on leaning goals. Easier to do without target grades

We have just done ours again co-constuted with union. The goal is "the role of appraisal is to support PD" we have 3 targets and utilise a variety of external support as well as use our INSET days exclusively for the 3 areas CCR
