I donated my old consoles / home computers to enthusiast groups. The VCR and cables I kept because I have way too much media that I still consume. Right now I’m putting off dealing with museums that want some of the kit because… I’m not that old am I?

Ditch it. It’ll be traumatic, and you will need at least one cable the day after you hand it over to recycling, but you will not miss it and be freed. Take it from one who did it last month (4 decades of cables, power supplies, and mice/keyboards)

So much this. I got rid of three decades-worth of cables and power blocks a few weeks ago. Was traumatic. The following day I needed one.

Sinclair ZX80 in primary school. First home computer was a TI99/4a. First games console was a Binatone TV Master. Got the motherboard of the TI99 framed on a wall in my office.

Memories. My Dad had a loaner Saab turbo while his car was being fixed. It wasn’t until I was into my teens that I realised UK motorways had speed limits.
