I'm reposting this photo to ask a question: Is Trump's obsession with gold some kind of Louis the Sun King delusion? Like he wants to pretend he lives in Versailles, but because his decorating style is an Atlantic City jumble sale, he turns everything into a gold plated shitbox?

Look at all the shit on the mantel behind Trump. It looks like a Pier One discount shooting gallery. Hit a candleholder and win a wicker monkey.

I’m wearing earbuds, testing EQ settings, etc. Since I’m at my desk, Aces (my cat) hopped up on my shoulder. Every time he sniffs the side of my head his nose touches the buds, changing the song I’m streaming. “Try new cat shuffle mode.”

The 2020 CASTLE FREAK remake is interesting. While a lot of horror films have two great early acts and fall apart in the third, CASTLE FREAK is the opposite. It gets stronger through acts one and two and goes completely batshit crazy in act three, which is how I like my horror.

Good morning. As I finish one book and jump back into another, I'm thinking about Godard.

After getting a haircut today I noticed this nice building across the street. It was tall enough that I decided to shoot it in 16:9. I like the look.

Does anyone remember Frank Kozik’s Labbits? I found my old collection in a box of discarded drives. This little bondage one was always a favorite.

I enjoyed BUGONIA a lot. The performances are great and the story caught me off guard more than once. The premise might have seemed outlandish a few years ago, but in an age of rampant internet conspiracies, both terrifying and banal, it's the perfect moment for a film like this.

So, I have a new book out, THE FLESH KING. It's the sequel to THE PALE HOUSE DEVIL. I'm over here working, but Aces would really like it if you could check it out. Thanks.

Did everyone know about this but me? A DVD release of TOKYO GORE POLICE with a second disc of short films set in the same universe? I can't wait to dig into them.

I bought Aces a new sleeping mat for the sofa. He's not sure about new things, so I lured him over with catnip. But I think he likes his new little cot.

I often miss California, but I really do enjoy east coast trees at this time of year.

Since then, the mine’s owner (allegedly) bought a load of heating pads and set up a warm room for the cats to sleep in. As always these days, it's hard to confirm this. But I really want it to be true.
