An Cailín Ciúin and Kneecap shortlisted for the Oscars’ Best International Feature Film in 2023 and 2025 respectively. Films that could not be more different but together showcase the range and vitality of an Irish language film sector that is going through a real growth spurt at the moment.

Blows my mind how people prefer club football over this.

A hilarious line from Murph on @secondcaptains.bsky.social, paraphrase - never mind McIlroy at the Masters, Troy Parrott has had the greatest Thursday to Sunday run in the history of Irish sport. #COYBIG #speirgorm

Now that the dust has settled, where do we place Parrot’s 5 goals in terms of great Irish sporting achievements? 5 goals in 3 days to take us to a World Cup playoff given where we were before the Portugal game means it’s right up there at the very top for me. Just incredible.

Parrott will rightly take the praise but can’t forget the difference Finn Azaz has made. He’s a player we were desperately crying out for since Wes Hoolahan. The type of player we find it so difficult to produce. Virtually every chance we created recently came through him.

Incredible that it’s always the parties that you could count their youth vote on your fingers that have this position.

That is a SHOCKING penalty decision for England. As bad as I’ve seen. Unorthodox tackle but the ball was won cleanly. Is there no VAR?

In case any prospective Xmas present buyers are trying to gauge my interest in reading a book edited by English Tory Zionist Iain Dale called “The Taoiseach: A Century of Political Leadership”.

It's upsetting to see a chart like this. A radical overhaul of Ireland's approach to road safety is needed, centred on education, enforcement, and design

Why is it so hard for people like Dan and Andrew to understand that only one of these horrible things is being carried out by a western ally and at the behest of the EU, UK and US specifically.

Not an iota of a boost for those backing the “spoil the vote” movement in the latest polls.

Peadar has flushed whatever credibility he had down the drain over the last while for absolutely nothing.

A photo from 1975 of Derry boxer, Neil McLaughlin. Don't think I've seen anything that looks more like a still from a Coen Brothers' film.
