Marketing is Sales.

Sales is Marketing.

They aren't dating. They are married with an expensive prenup.

When one isn't working, the other one isn't working. << This is expensive. When both are working, the team is like a fine wine; only better with age. << This is the never-ending honeymoon.

Marketing is not an exercise in creativity and trying new things.

Marketing should be rooted in core strategy and alignment. It should be clearly defined. It should not deviate. It should remain ultra focused. And it should say “no” to nearly every “great idea” that arrives.

Is Chime losing ground?

"Chime’s customers show fleeting loyalty and are not as profitable as those at banks that cater to more affluent consumers."

Why has Chime's market cap fallen 50% since its IPO? - GL Insight
Chime's revenue has grown since its IPO, but investors are unconvinced and the company's share price has taken a beating, falling 50% since the June market debut.

Easy, wins.

Carvana? Same thing.
You don’t always need to have the best product.

But you must have the best solution.

Here’s an example:

Starbucks doesn’t make the best coffee.

But if you want a fast and easy cup, there’s no one better.

I feel this LinkedIn post in my #Marketing bones. We do everything. GTM, Product Development, Crisis, Content, MQLs, leads, support sales, dashboards, design, etc. Over time, we have moved to a place where we don't do much at a high level.

What’s frustrating about #ai, is people who pull out their phones, regurgitate an answer, and think they are a genius. No, you can type. You don’t know what you just read to me.

Marketers: how focused are you on the funnels vs. just trying to survive? #marketing #business

I still think this is a winner...
Want a game changer for Costco?

Have a booth selling the hot dogs and soda (nothing else) at the gas line.

I would buy one every time.

In our digital-first world, print is often an afterthought.

📨 Don't ignore the opportunity that print marketing presents.

Attention is a game, and the goal is to find it.

Recent data suggests print is alive and well: richarddedor.substack.com/p/print-mark...

Print Marketing Isn't Dead. Your Strategy Is.
Why does direct mail still work? Because you have to touch it. You see it. And then you have to decide to toss it out.

Corporate Values does NOT Business Value.

Having corporate values can add value; but it is not a guarantee. Adding value has to be built into the everyday execution of the company.
