My first shift (9-1) at The Patch at the Canadian Olympic curling trials tonight! This should be fine, I hear the late shift on a Sat night on the first day of the trials is a quiet one anyway right

(Rankin MacInnes is on at 10, and the Patch is open to the public if you feel like a free show!)

was watching old curling highlights and wow, i've never seen ergonomic brooms before!

the beast awakens today
Woody, the talking Christmas tree with a face in the Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The face is white-flesh-toned with very red cheeks and nose, big lips (with a marionette-style chin), and wide eyes with eyelashes that stare straight ahead. No eyebrows. The tree itself is a straight-sided cone made of green artificial-tree type branches and ball decorations. I think the thing that bothers me most about Woody is that it looks straight ahead, instead of down at the people around its base. But eyebrows would help too.

from the arcade era, and post-arcade. I was of an age that I never really Got Good at any arcade games; for me the Get Good age was NES. But I loved playing Spy Hunter, not sure what it was about it!

Crazy Taxi was just a great game.

Since it looks like they unstuck the Detroit BIG BOAT STUCK, i'm here to reassure you that the Newfoundland BIG BOAT STUCK, the MSC Baltic III, is still stuck (since Feb 15).

She's in the news today because she took some damage in a recent cyclonic storm. She's going to be salvaged in place.
A big boat, the MSC Baltic III, aground against a remote rock cliff in Newfoundland. Her bulbous bow is out of the water and higher than her stern and she is listed slightly to port. Halifax folks! I am selling winter tires from a car I no longer have. Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 195/65R15, 9/32" tread left, date code 0223, used two winters, mounted on 5x114.3 rims that are about ten years old. Asking $350.
