Old mages...I got one.

I now have a full draft of my #TTRPG #WIP Rustic Fantasy. It's a simplified #Mythras Imperative / #BRP #D100 game with #OSR combat and fairy-tale-like magic. (Also good for #cozy #fantasy.)

As a teaser, here is the current character sheet.

Now all I have to do is play test, editing, and layout...

They are starting to think about heading south... In the summer, no one spends the night on this pond.

#ttrpg #fantasy #map Here is a little something for my current WIP. I'm trying to go for a rustic highlands vibe with a strong fantasy twist.

Well, you inspired me to take this picture. As an old Arcata guy, I don't have redwoods anymore. But I do have some large cottonwoods.

I'm hoping for feedback--doing a few new things with this #TTRPG #map. A crazy wizard has a small school in the ruins of a castle. Question, do the squiggles in the courtyard give you a "ruined and overgrown" castle vibe? I know what I mean, so it works great for me, but does it work for others?

Meanwhile in Manitoba we're building up a head of steam. Passengers are starting to arrive for today's trip.

I'm collecting old, public domain images for a #WIP. I rename them to match what I need. This one is from the 1906 Yellow Faire Book. I've named it "Stupid Cupid".

Note the figure in the upper left...

And I took this picture today. Winnipeg might be a little behind the rest of Canada. ;-)

It's a world where the followers of the oligarchs have no upper hand over the promoters of democracy. The game is set in the no-mans-land between democracies and cartels. There is no magic. No gods driving humanity. PC set their own fate and the future of humanity is undetermined.

I'd like to say, "I'll see you and raise you", but I think these are about the same. This is my in-law's farm just across the river from you.

I don't post enough #ttrpg #Fantasymap.

I'm teaching myself how to do color. For the longest time I only did old school line drawn maps.

I'm toying with using these for my WIP, Rustic Fantasy.

It's customary to call out major Follower milestones--and I'm not really ready. But I crossed 1000 last night.

Thanks to everyone on BlueSky! I really enjoy the engagement.

Here's a corny picture of me at Canada's oldest hotdog stand. We like to go there for ice cream and pinball.

I have a #WIP that will use a lot of old, #Public_Domain art and I thought I would share some of it. I love these old line drawings.

This one is by Morris William Meredith (1867-1921). I think there is so much beautiful art work from the late 1800s that is slipping from the public consciousness.

Yesterday I picked up a copy of Ensign 3: Flower Class Corvettes by Anthony Preston and Alan Raven. Here is a list of the U-boats destroyed by these small craft in WW2. Note names like Gladiolus and Hyacinth. Seems relevant to me.

Just a reminder for #Winterpeg, swimming is unsupervised.

QRT with art of Powerful Women.

Not sure I'm doing this right, but yesterday I did my first ever color figure drawing. She's a Rubble and Ruin cyborg.

Every now and then I do #illistrations for one of my creative projects. This is for my #WIP, a post apocalyptic #scifi story--a New Adult mystery called "Perilous Kludge and the Wayward Transhuman".

I want readers to notice the complexity on top of grain silos.

I've written a manuscript called "Perilous Kludge and the Wayward Transhuman" set in my Rubble and Ruin world . Here is a map of New Calumet where the action starts.

Doing the art helps me keep my mind of politics. Not sure post apocalyptic is the best, but...

Just finished "The Downloaded" by @robertjsawyer.com. Great book. I heard him talk and remembered how he said the font used on the cover represents "science" in certain contexts. Here it is literally representing science.

Rubble and Ruin is a #ttrpg set 20-yeards after the fall of a cyber- bio- punk near-future torn apart by conflict between elected governments and corporate oligarchs. Prospectors are entering the ruins of the Chicago looking for Old Tech and a better tomorrow.

Remember people, if you are starting your first #ManitobaWinter, what we have seen so far is not winter. It is the easy mode tutorial at the start of a video game.

I wrote Rubble and Ruin to have a science fiction game that plays like an OCR fantasy but with science and technology instead of magic. Because not every adventure has to be about magic...
