ROBOTS IN LOVE will have a paperback edition soon. At the moment, there is a hardback and an ebook. The paperback edition will cross the great divide between them 🤖🤖 #booksky

Well, that was even better than MOLLOY, which is saying a lot. Perhaps the most Kafkaesque thing I have ever read. Incredible prose. I'm not entirely sure how it follows from MOLLOY but I don't think it matters (is Malone what Moran has become or is he Macmann?) Masterful and devastating 🙂 #booksky

Exactly one year ago, I received my complimentary copies of this anthology. The book includes my story 'What Actually Happened', written while I was working at the university. It was nice getting paid to write, even though my employers didn't know that's what they were paying me for 😊 #booksky

Exactly thirty years ago, the very first experimental story I ever wrote was published.

I had only written stories with conventional structures until I decided to try something different.

An important point: back then, aubergines weren't considered rude :-)

Here's the first page... #booksky

I think I am a pretty good writer but when I read books like DHALGREN I tend to think that 'good' isn't so great really. I know this novel evokes mixed responses but for me it's astounding, an utterly mighty masterpiece 😊 #booksky

Exactly 17 years ago, my novel ENGELBRECHT AGAIN was published. It was the first novel I ever wrote. It concerns the further adventures of the dwarf surrealist boxer invented in the 1940s by Maurice Richardson. The book includes an introduction by Jeff VanderMeer 😊 #booksky

First day of November, therefore it's time to start reading a new book. Recently I read MOLLOY and thought it was excellent, so now I am launching into the second volume of his loose 'trilogy' and I'm delighted to be doing so ☺️ #booksky

FB Memories tells me that exactly two years ago, I finished writing this book, published earlier this year by @elsewhen.press. This is one of my books that needs more love. In my opinion, THE DEVIL'S HALO is my best fantasy novel :-) 💀👻 #booksky #fantasy #fiction #novels #ghosts #demons

There's a magnifying mirror in the bathroom and I used it just now to take a photo of myself in the style of J.D. Vance ☺️ #JDVance

The book that was the biggest single inspiration on my writing career. I discovered Poe when I was 15 and became an instant devotee. This is the actual volume I owned back then. Other influences came along a few years later (Bradbury, etc) but it was Poe first 🙂 #booksky

Delighted that my story 'The Empty Vessel' has been published today in the latest issue of Nightmare Abbey. I think it's one of my best ghost stories. It's also a crime fiction mystery 🙂💀💀👻👻🙂 #booksky

Some stills from last night's performance of my play 'As a Man Grows Colder' at Volcano Theatre @volcanotheatre.bsky.social The actors were superb and absolutely made the play come alive. I loved the physicality of it 🙂 #theatre

The first two of my plays to be performed will be premiered tomorrow at Volcano Theatre. I have been writing plays for the past seven years. None have been performed until now. Seeing my name in huge letters outside the theatre today was a very nice surprise 🙂

Hard to believe it has been exactly eleven years since I went to Ireland for the launch of THE YOUNG DICTATOR, and I still haven't written the sequel to that novel... But I will one day. I even know what its title will be: AGAINST THE GRAN 🙂 #booksky

Library sales are the cheapest places to buy books. I picked this volume up for 20p last week. It's a compendium of Karel Čapek's work, featuring plays, short stories, essays, etc. Čapek is great. WAR WITH THE NEWTS might be the best science fiction novel published in the 1930s. #booksky

Pleased to receive issue #11 of Occult Detective Magazine. Many thanks to editors Dave Brzeski and John Linwood Grant. The issue includes the second of my 'Nathan Gesture' stories, which was written for a pre-existing illustration, so it can be regarded as an ekphrastic piece 🙂 #booksky

Thanks to an arrangement with Raphus Press, my book TANGENTS will soon be a cheap paperback and ebook under the Gibbon Moon imprint, as well as the limited edition recently brought out by Raphus itself. The novella was my thousandth story. It is the final piece in my grand story cycle :-) #booksky
