I think he is a very visually satisfying boss, but I also really don't like fighting him. That's a general DS2 thing to me, though. I'd put him on the upper end of DS2 bosses, but all DS2 bosses are lower in my personal rankings.

I'm familiar enough with them to be pretty comfy; it's the Curseblade and Divine Beast Warrior that are truly terrifying

Seeing this thing show up in Nightreign still highlights how immensely creepy the design is. It's just so unlike any other entity we encounter. Straight up horror enemy, love it.

My first run against them was with 2 randoms, and the last alive was our Undertaker, who proceeded to run from the boss and chip them down for like 4 minutes... then sadly perish right as they were 2 hits from death. Nail biting show though

And a ROT boss of all things. A 7-boss gank and a tanky, hyperaggressive, high-damage rot boss, and they're both really damn fun. I don't even know what to say.

The fact that you know what's on the line if you lose- having to do the whole run over again and hope you get good gear, good teammates- really adds tension to such an already insanely intense fight. And holy fuck that soundtrack

I also reached phase 2 (3??) on my first attempt at him, and lasted a combined 20 seconds before immediate team wipe, so that was quite the introduction

There was a moment on my first encounter with him (the actual nightlord, not the intro fight) where he assumed a stance and slow walked towards me, and I actually gulped like a cartoon character IRL. This guy is a *monster*.
