My old man was sent to defuse a bomb in the Tower pub in Hastings on 23/5/43 - it landed in the beer cellar and the landlord refused to leave as he was sure the BD squad were going to nick all his beer 😂

He was cashiered on charges of looting from bombed out properties and ended up in Australia after the war I believe.
