The hostility to the move can IMO be boiled down to 2 related points:

1. DCU fans have no trust in anyone at the club to make a good move. That's gonna take years to fix.

2. When DCU spends 7 figs, they've bought at several career value peaks. This deal feels like, for example, Edison Flores.

Why start now!? (Benteke excepted)

In no way am I saying this will be a good move or not, but I am a bit relieved the first of 3 promissed DP signings is a guy with success in MLS instead of (insert random Eastern European striker). #DCU

Good. They should also offer Seattle a bag for Minoungou, pick up Kent off of waivers, sign Haak, Coronel & Zimmerman in free agency.
Thoughts on this from DC’s perspective?

DCU fans have been calling for Coronel and Zimm for a minute. I agree.

Herrera out the door? That’s Jon’s Fortune Telling Skills again.

I hope he isn't a DP... Even at a TAM level that is stretching it #DCU

See?

We spent way more on Enow... just saying... I see your point. It still wouldn't have cost anything against the cap. His next contract would have. #DCU

If I had to guess, they know he wants to go to Europe. If they exercise that option and he fulfills his potential, he walks at the end of the season. They want a multi-year contract to get an opportunity to sell him. Purely buisness sadly. #DCU
