The rest is history. I'm retired now, but I'm glad as hell that I decided back then to give it a try. I ended up doing what I think I was born to do, which is something that I realize I'm SO lucky to say and glad I had the chance to follow it.

I had even decided that I would never be able to follow my dream of becoming an Engineer because I was so terrible at "math".

But like you, I decided to go for it and enrolled in a BSEE program & discovered that while I couldn't use math as a "concept" I was REAL good at using it as a tool!

I was on the leading-edge of the "New Math" phase of teaching that rolled out in the 60s. Teaching math as concepts was supposed to somehow allow kids to use the concepts to figure out bigger things.

Didn't work for most of us.

I was *awful* at it while doing quite well in other subjects 1/2
