Hmmm, it's more of a quick sketch reference to see what I need to work on with the Wicked Witch of the West. But I'll see what I can do in the future...

Dorothy is one half of the symbol. For her to be fully complete, she needs her constant companion.

I understand that. And honestly, I don't have a simple answer to that because what happened in the Holocaust is far more complex than people would like to admit, spanning across centuries of anti-Jewish prejudices that kept evolving like a virus.

I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

For me personally, it just feels iffy to suggest there is some kind of lesson to be learned from the Holocaust, as if the six million Jewish lives were worth teaching people something.

Do keep in mind of that because even for me, it's hard for me to talk about this without feeling shivers.

This is something that people forget about the Nazis. The Nazis prioritized on killing Jews MORE than actually winning WWII. That's why so much resources were spent on the Final Solution instead of the Eastern Front. That's what makes the Nazis stand out from regular fascists and racists. Pure evil.

The thing to note about antisemitism in Germany was that Hitler didn't depict Jews as "weak". He depicted them as an all-powerful group secretly responsible for all the evils and ills in the world. Both capitalist and communist at the same time. In Hitler's eyes, he was the underdog crusader.

Lesson? The Holocaust is not a lesson. It is a horrific event where centuries of hate and prejudice against the Jews reached its logical conclusion.

And that hate is rationalized and legitimatized by intellectuals who claim themselves to be moral and just. All they need to do is demonize Jews.

Dorothy finding queer love with Ozma, who moves her family from Kansas when the bank forecloses on the farm.

You know the Emerald City isn't Emerald in the books?

Yeah, read the books.

No. But they are a famous duo in Disney. Meeting them at the LightBox Expo gave me a lot of inspiration on how to design the Nome King and his Steward's faces.
