I get the last line is ick. This is a bit! I just find the use of word “leisure” by them to be almost cartoonishly evil. Like they’re waggling their eyebrows and twirling mustaches when they say it.

In that same thread, someone also responded to a former addict arguing for compassion and better treatment that treating addicts “like human beings doesn’t seem to help,” of course citing anecdotal evidence with no basis in reality. The comment got a gold star or whatever.

Those call up videos except it’s a guy being told he’s leaving a team called the Boat Antelope for a team called the Space Sturgeon and he’s crying because he just wishes he could play for a team named after an animal without any added descriptors.

We probably need to blame ourselves a little. We let these whole “pick the new name of the team” thing get out of hand (see Binghamton Rumble Ponies). Bad outcome of millennial cringe.
And don’t get me started on the “alternate identity” nights that are excuses to sell new merch and hedge bets.

I get the idea of going away from being named after the MLB club in some cases because affiliations change but, you’ve got these guys in an office being like “what if we called this team the Rodeo Walruses?”
