The hardest parenting decision is rather or not to keep your kids home because of a cough. Is it allergies? Is it illness? Is it contagious? Or just the coughing of residual crud? I hate sick season.

Here's an uplifting story for today:

I kept getting notifications to expect my monthly top-off of propane. My last delivery was 12/30/24. We got the coldest weather in January. So I kept an eye on the tank- Last Friday my tank was at 10%. I called, checked my account. No delivery notification.

I've missed this. I'm so elated that the temp is high enough for lunch by the river 🥰😍🎉

Who can keep up? Not me! And neither should you. Please remember sanity is far more important.

This is not the first time. This is not the first time the top oppresses the bottom. This fight is not new, these problems are not new: it's just new to us white folx who have been blinded by privilege for a long time - myself included.

Go listen to stories of our black aunts Jewish grandmothers
The only two groups that I've seen who deeply understand the spiritual peril we are in:

Black women and Jewish women.

I'm talking about feeling it in the cells, our bones. Like, making emergency exit plans.

I'm not trying to be hyperbolic, just saying the truth.

Trying to keep a positive attitude in the middle of the night as my son has a bout with a stomach bug 🤮

I might have just thought of a theme of my new book: unhinged, sh*t you can't make up, stories of my life

I can't even keep up with all the nonsense. Let's spend some #light. What makes you feel most #alive?

I am beyond words! I'm so excited that this is included in Spotify Premium. #worthIt I am not even through the first chapter and I'm SPEECHLESS. This is everything I need right now.

Any other #clergywomen serving purple congregations feeling a little .... Fearful this morning? I am. I need like 30 more years of experience to handle this 😅

I haven't fact checked this - but it makes me hopeful for sure!
NOW: More than 98% of #Costco shareholders have just rejected an anti-DEI measure

The attempt to force Costco to audit their #DEI work was by an anti-inclusion lobby group:

"The proponent's broader agenda is not reducing risk for the Company but abolition of diversity initiatives." - Costco Board

Alright #booksky - I hear that Amazon is horrible. But I LOVE my ebooks and Kindle unlimited subscription. I love my annotations, accessibility features (#dylexia), and convenience of the app, tracking my reading days. I like owning my ebooks because I often refer back to them in ministry. Help?

For RCL preachers - this weeks Gospel Passage is Luke 4: 14-21. Anyone else getting Bishop Budde vibes? Come in. Read scripture on justice and abolition. People get mad about it.

Thread 1/4: My grandmother was born in 1926. She was 19 when WWII ended. She even claimed that at the end, she moved to Carlisle, PA to help pack ammo for the war. When I was a child, I asked her "why didn't anyone do anything about the Holocaust"

I find this whole thing wild. Trump and the Insurrectionist are literally trying to rewrite the history for that day. Some even believe that the videos from that day were fabricated. It's scary thinking that our future is going to be built on lies.
Trump is attacking a bishop for suggesting that he show mercy to fearful people, the marginalized, immigrants, and children.

Yet, Trump pardoned 1500 convicted felons, including those who violently attacked police officers.

This tells us much about what to expect going forward.

I have never seen such bravery until I watched the video of Rev. Budde preaching yesterday to a congregation that didn't want her message, but needed it most. My first thought was "Eset Chayil! I want to be that brave!" Then I learned show wrote a book on bravery. *hits add to cart* #clergywomen
This is written by the bishop who stood up to Orange Voldemort. Everyone should be buying this. It's available on Amazon for $14. I'm an atheist and I'm buying it. #booksky

This is the face of courage and compassion. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking truth to power on behalf of the marginalized.

Take the 15 minutes and listen to her sermon. If this is a controversial sermon, then I don't know what isn't. Her words are a beautiful light of hope in this dreary time.

My college years were full of twist, turns, and discernment. Looking back - I have always been called to ministry. I just had to pretend to be a scientist first. I do cherish my EnviroSci life tho
If you went to college
1. What was your career goal when you started?
2. What was your initial major?
3. If you changed majors, what did you change to?
4. What do you do now?

1. No plans, was a failed musical theatre hopeful
2. Plan II “education for life, not a living”
