Wasn't that Lydia Dustbin?

That genuinely reminds me of a bloke I worked with years ago. He'd have a Slimfast for lunch then follow it with a Mars Bar, because .. Slimfast is slimming?

I have the 7" single in my vinyl cupboard as we speak. Loved that track. For some reason.

Isn't that around about the time EVERYTHING had to have pan pipes in it?

I think I saw a bottom! 🤭

1969 to 1973, but to be fair (before I was born) it was the repeats my family and I used to watch together, so it might as well be from the 1980s.

I'm not wearing a poppy this year. You have no idea why.
November 5, 2025 at 6:12 PM
No, I'm up for that. Not sure why it's not a thing, really.

Oh, they can completely **** that absolute bull**** right back into the digital sea where it's cursed corpse of an empty husk of an excuse for artwork dragged itself out from.

It would have been a specialised vector monitor wouldn't it? Bit different from a standard CRT. It was probably "hitting different" at the time, as we'd say these days.

That bloody Woolworths Vectrex sell-off back in the 80s! We got there as the last one was going out the door. Worst part is, our neighbour's boy got one that day and rubbed it in our faces!
November 5, 2025 at 9:40 AM
God, can you imagine how much it would cost to mass reproduce a 1:1 Vectrex now, with an actual CRT? I wish I had the time and knowhow to maintain an original machine, but realistically, it's just not going to happen. Sadly it'll always remain one of those "one that got away" consoles for me.

Kinda the same here. I'm SUPER interested, but I know I won't buy one. I've always wanted an original but those reasons - cost, maintenance and novelty (ie. it would live on a shelf looking pretty). We JUST missed out on one for £40 at Woolworths back in the 80s when they were selling them off.

I'm with you on the size. There are murmers of the possibility of a full-size version if the mini goes well. Considering it's smashed through the KS goal in 15 minutes, the prospect could be looking fairly good.

It looks good (to me) in the videos I've seen, and I think the screen they've chosen is as ideal as it could be, but other than the outlay, I'm not sure about the screen size. I need to see one working in the flesh, really.
