I work for #CA38 in Congress. Serve on the Ways and Means Committee. Proud mom, dog lover, & Dodgers fan.
It was a privilege to honor our veterans in the cities of Downey, Santa Fe Springs, and La Habra. Their service anchors our communities, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure they receive the support and dignity they've earned.

It was an honor to celebrate Veterans Day across Southern California last week.

Supporting our veterans goes beyond thank you — that’s why I introduced the Fair Housing Disability Act to protect their access to affordable housing.

I voted for transparency and justice for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein. The House finally passed it. Now the Senate must act.

Health care premiums are going to increase next year.
That's the hard reality of it.

Remember that Republicans are the ones who fought for those increases.

Open Enrollment for @coveredca.bsky.social is underway. Because Republicans refused to renew health care subsidies, many Californians will see premium increases in 2026. Review and update your coverage during Open Enrollment.

If the only proof the White House has that prices are down is DoorDash data, we’ve got bigger problems.

Being able to afford a private taxi for a burrito doesn't determine the state of our economy.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who have served our nation.

Thank you to every veteran, and to the families who stand beside them, for your courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our freedom. 🇺🇸

As Nat’l Bullying Prevention Month ends, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made w/ the Safe Schools Improvement Act, my bill w/ @repmarktakano.bsky.social to make sure every student feels safe. 🌈
Thanks to @glsen.bsky.social’s advocacy for LGBTQ+ students, we’re a step closer to safer schools for all.

Trump just sold us out to China. His "deal":
October 30, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Republicans’ refusal to pass a budget that works for the American people puts 42 million Americans’ SNAP benefits at risk. Families shouldn’t go hungry because of the mess Republicans created.
October 29, 2025 at 3:33 PM
@neal.house.gov and I are calling out Trump’s latest “trade deal” with China.

It’s weak, it’s hollow, and it sells out American workers, farmers, and national security for empty promises.

Trump’s Argentina bailout is screwing over U.S. farmers while possibly lining the pockets of his friends, like Robert Citrone. @sewell.house.gov & I led 54 Democrats calling on Treasury for answers.

Americans deserve a government that works for them.
October 22, 2025 at 9:12 PM
I, alongside @sewell.house.gov, led 54 Democrats demanding answers on Trump’s $20B bailout of Argentina.

Taxpayer dollars shouldn’t prop up a foreign ally or enrich political friends while American farmers struggle and families can’t afford health care.

Wishing a joyful Diwali to everyone celebrating in Southern California! May your celebrations be filled with light, love, and prosperity.

This shutdown is directly affecting healthcare. Without extending health care tax credits: 40,450 people in the 38th District — and 1 in 6 Californians — will see their premiums double.

Find resources and info on support during the shutdown here.

We’re now in week three of this government shutdown, all because Republicans refuse to work with Democrats. Remember, they control the House, Senate, and White House — they could end this anytime.

My office has put together a guide on what’s affected and resources to help.

This is a result of the Republican Shutdown. Our own military at food banks because Republicans are too stubborn to pass a budget that works for the American people.

On #IndigenousPeoplesDay, we not only celebrate Indigenous cultures and resilience — we recommit to honoring our promises to tribal nations. I’ll keep fighting for policies that uphold sovereignty, protect sacred lands, and ensure Indigenous voices are always heard.

Ignoring the ongoing shutdown by claiming the work is finished is an insult to Americans who rely on government services.

House Republicans need to end their vacation, return to Washington and do their job.
October 8, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Republicans control the White House, House and Senate. This shutdown is entirely due to their failed leadership.

But rather than calling Congress back into session so we can work on reopening the government, Speaker Johnson just canceled all votes next week.

Due to the government shutdown, my 20th Annual Senior Fair that was originally scheduled for this Friday has been moved to Nov. 13th at Pico Rivera Park.
