No matter your immigration status, you have rights. Know them and assert them.
I, alongside @sewell.house.gov, led 54 Democrats demanding answers on Trump’s $20B bailout of Argentina.

Taxpayer dollars shouldn’t prop up a foreign ally or enrich political friends while American farmers struggle and families can’t afford health care.
Wishing a joyful Diwali to everyone celebrating in Southern California! May your celebrations be filled with light, love, and prosperity.
This shutdown is directly affecting healthcare. Without extending health care tax credits: 40,450 people in the 38th District — and 1 in 6 Californians — will see their premiums double.

We’re now in week three of this government shutdown, all because Republicans refuse to work with Democrats. Remember, they control the House, Senate, and White House — they could end this anytime.

My office has put together a guide on what’s affected and resources to help.
63% of Americans say the best way to reduce the debt is to tax the rich.

Not by cutting Medicare.
Not by gutting Medicaid.

Making billionaires pay their fair share — that’s how we build an economy that works for everyone.

Our government is shut down bc Republicans refuse to deliver health care for Americans.

Meanwhile, a year of ACA tax credits for working families costs a fraction of Trump's $40B bailout of Argentina.

This is a result of the Republican Shutdown. Our own military at food banks because Republicans are too stubborn to pass a budget that works for the American people.
On #IndigenousPeoplesDay, we not only celebrate Indigenous cultures and resilience — we recommit to honoring our promises to tribal nations. I’ll keep fighting for policies that uphold sovereignty, protect sacred lands, and ensure Indigenous voices are always heard.

Republicans cut $137 billion from rural health care. Now, they want credit for “fixing” the problem they created because they put a $50 billion Band-Aid on it.

They’re the arsonist and the firefighter.
Latinas work hard, contribute immensely, and yet still face a wage gap of 54¢ to every $1 a white man makes. On #LatinaEqualPayDay, I stand firm in the fight in advancing policies for equal pay.
On Latina Equal Pay Day, we’re reminded that pay inequity fuels the wealth gap. The @hispaniccaucus.bsky.social is committed to advancing policies that ensure Latinas earn what they deserve and build the wealth they’ve long been denied.
Ignoring the ongoing shutdown by claiming the work is finished is an insult to Americans who rely on government services.

House Republicans need to end their vacation, return to Washington and do their job.
Day 7 of the shutdown, and Republicans are still blaming Democrats.

Let's be clear: this shutdown is about protecting healthcare for Americans while Republicans are fighting to give handouts to their billionaire buddies.
The Trump administration is weaponizing the shutdown to steal Americans’ health care and deny federal workers their pay — Americans see through it.
A draft White House memo, reported by Axios, reinterprets the Government Employee Fair Treatment Act, or GEFTA, to stiff federal workers on furlough amid the longest shutdown in U.S. history. trib.al/fWCjnLQ
Republicans control the White House, House and Senate. This shutdown is entirely due to their failed leadership.

But rather than calling Congress back into session so we can work on reopening the government, Speaker Johnson just canceled all votes next week.
Due to the government shutdown, my 20th Annual Senior Fair that was originally scheduled for this Friday has been moved to Nov. 13th at Pico Rivera Park.

Join us from 9 AM–12 PM for resources & free health screenings.
This shutdown could have been prevented if Republicans worked with us to pass a realistic budget that protected Americans’ health care. Instead, they chose politics over people.

They’re the only ones to blame for this shutdown.
Wishing an easy and meaningful fast to all observing Yom Kippur. May this day bring reflection, peace, and renewal.
Shutdowns are disruptive but they’re also avoidable. I’ll keep working to protect our community from the chaos Republicans are creating. Stay informed, stay safe, and know I’m fighting for you.
