If my ID is correct these are my first time finding birds egg fungus (Crucibulum laeve). And in my very own garden. They’re smaller than photos I’ve seen led me to believe (maybe 5 mm diameter)

Ein Löffler im Flug direkt von unten, mit ausgebreiteten, leuchtend weißen Flügeln, durch die hindurch man seine Flügelknochen sehen kann, im Hintergrund blauer Himmel. Man sieht deutlich seinen sehr langen, schwarzen, löffelförmigen Schnabel.

Two transverse discs cut from the same tree, on a wooden workbench. A dark fungal pattern is present around the heartwood on both of them. The left one has a dark cambium layer around the sapwood, and a light even coloration. The right one has starker contrasts: the inner cambium is still white, the heartwood turned white and seems drier, and the dark fungal pattern seeps into a reddish colour. The sapwood however seems more saturated.

Na makro fotografii je mohutná housenka, která je vyfocena pouze přední část těla. Má oválnou hlavu složité kusadla, oči nejsou vidět. Tělo je ohebné a prohnuté do tvaru vlny. Na přední části těla jsou velké skvrny připomínající černé oči s bílými víčky. Zbytek těla je černý-šedý-béžový. Housenka má vpředu tři páry zahnutých nožek s drápky. Drží se jimi zeleného úzkého listu, na pozadí je zelený mech.
