Highlighting my reasons for not wanting it, when I searched about disabling it, it had a load of CoPilot garbage at the top about how not being able to disable it is frustrating people & then a load of contradictory workarounds involving a bunch of nonexistent settings.

Have you tried that ninite thing? I've used it a few times on new installs, but not for a while and remember it being pretty handy. You just checkbox a bunch of useful apps and it auto downloads and installs the latest versions.

Ah of course! I have done that before by mistake, but never ran it! I don't think I ever clocked it was just happening on the target pin and I always thought perhaps it would choose one based on the exec path or something, so removed it up to avoid ambiguity.
