A soup exchange (think cookie exchange, but for soups) party is one of the best gatherings I ever attended.

Yep. We’ll definitely be watching labels even more closely to make sure our produce is grown in Canada, not just processed/packaged here.

It’s an older game, but Knit Wit by Matt Leacock (published by Z-Man) was always fun when I could get it to the table.

(I adore word games but recognize they aren’t equally accessible to everyone.)

Thanks for being so vulnerable. That’s so much to live through.

I don’t have that trauma, but my auditory overstimulation comes from certain frequencies. If you think that blocking some types of “white” noise while still hearing other things clearly might help, I’m happy to share my experience.

If all goes well, I’ll have a cozy new pair of socks for the year-end holidays!

The resolution is part practical - I’ve never completed a pair of socks, although I’ve crocheted fingerless gloves and boot cuffs/toppers before - and part metaphorical. As a “recovering” perfectionist, I dislike finishing anything I’m not particularly skilled at.

The first sock sat mostly complete for months, but I was worried I made a mistake binding off the cuff so I only picked it up again a couple of weeks ago. (I did make a mistake and had to rip back basically the entire cuff and redo it, but it’s better now!)

I got my first Black Friday sale email from a company on October 14 and they’ve slowly been increasing since then. Apparently nothing but $$$ is sacred in late-stage capitalism.
