both a moral atrocity and a catastrophic political miscalculation. liberals will be demoralized, the right won’t believe it is happening, and it will have zero effect on border crossings
President Biden campaigned against building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. But his administration filed notice on Thursday that it was waiving more than 20 federal laws and regulations, including environmental ones, to build additional barriers along the Southern border. nyti.ms/3titIaN

I will make a point of flying out of any terminal with a restaurant bold enough to rename the basic $18 burger on their menu “The Brooks.”

I choose to believe he would have made a better Supreme Court Justice than a lawyer cop but who can ever know since Obama refused to grow a pair on that one

Private equity partners and emergency room should only be in the same sentence if the partners are bleeding out on the ER floor
The collapse of American Physician Partners, a private equity–owned emergency room operator in 18 states, has physicians calling louder than ever for a strike.

We're already there
the saga of a QAnon freak posting actual child porn and Elon reinstating his account feels like a window into cultural manifestations of fascism. It’s not just that they’re hypocritical and projecting. It’s that the contradictions will heighten to a point where honest discourse feels impossible.
