I’m gonna eat so many baguettes this year
Especially if it’s from a place I haven’t tried
If I have the opportunity to eat a baguette in 2026 I’m gonna say yes

One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.

When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

Happy birthday, Rosa Parks. Her bravery, resilience, and strength inspire us to keep fighting injustice, now more than ever.

Today, we remember her words: “Never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.”

#CommuteViews Spotted this reserved seat on my bus ride to work. For Rosa and Claudette and the thousands of others; only nameless to history books not to our memory.
Our progress continues. #BlackHistoryMonth

Today I saw ICE gas little white kids in the streets of Portland with chemical weapons. Imagine what they're doing to brown and black kids in the detention camps

Nothing like bleeding through my underwear two different days this week at work to make me want to quit, walk into the desert, and fucking disappear

I wish I could Do-Not-Care this part of perimenopause but alas

it is a wild sickness to try and find evidence or reason for why someone's life should have value to the state. When lives are ended by cops in the street the defence is always that they were peaceful and law abiding, as if the opposite would mean they somehow deserved what bullets claimed them.

Lucked out and had a private bus ride to work this morning! Coffee is hot and I had a coupon for a ETA (bagel egg tomato and avocado)
Off to a great start for Baked Potato Wednesday

I went for a walk today to break in my new shoes.
A horribly disturbing scene happened on my street and hood; a large black truck rode slowly down the streets with a megaphone mounted on top blasting recorded messages from Noam about ICE and turning “illegals” in.

What the absolute fuck, America??

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.

And so ~in dollar terms~ his shenanigans have already cost the US one Greenland, and we've got nothing to show for it.

If you would like to be in the slightest bit an ally, at the very least, when you see someone else masking, in a store, at the doctors, put one on yourself. Let that person know by your action that you have not abandoned them and they are not alone. Because they could be living on rice and yeast.

Next time you are tempted to say “back during covid” please understand that I didn’t get sick until after Biden declared the pandemic over, and there are millions struggling to get safe access to care because of this idea. It’s not over. People are getting sick today who will get as sick as I am.

Part of the continued problem with denialism is it makes people who are already suffering the effects suffer even more. I should not have to beg to be protected from infection in a health care facility, especially during flu season!

Which is why I’m really writing this. I am malnourished and running out of food because of this stupid illness, and the covid is over delusions are so strong, my DOCTOR can’t understand why I’d want to avoid infection. Why should this even be a question? Why don’t they have protocols in place?

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.
