Despite noteworthy Ke'Bryan Hayes deal today, and some big reliever trades, something that stands out to me is that Josh Naylor and Randall Grichuk are basically the only guys moved with ~18 hours to go.

As we wait on news of signing bonus for #Reds second round pick RHP Aaron Watson (~$2m-ish?), we can start to wonder if they could potentially sign 18th (Ethan Moore) or 19th (Myles Upchurch) round picks with the nearly $1m of extra bonus pool money. Both figure to be tough signs.

With a XWOBACON of .510, and a 58.2% HardHit%. His xBA has climbed from .180 last season to .282. His exit velocities are a career best. He has all the signs of a guy who's been better in 2025 than 2023, but surface numbers haven't caught up yet.

The list of free agent catchers. One of these names likely becomes the #Reds backup catcher.
I think they'll prioritize defensive ability and ability to run a pitching staff over offensive upside. Which I think works against Elias Diaz, and James McCann isn't really known for defense at this point.
