One of the interesting things with SAAS, is at its best you can see rapid improvements, and at it's worst it's recognizing the long slide into platform decay.

Oh no, that sounds bad.

Died died? My old smart TV was acting like it was dying, but if I pressed the input button it'd refresh and work again… seemed like a deceptive pattern for planned obsolescence.

Hopefully there's a dumb fix for yours. 😢

No room to install open-world games anymore, because my drive is full of screenshots of open-world games, because they're just unpaid work I have to do at home now.

There are a few other cool units:
ex - relative to x-height ( want to play with this idea)
ch - relative to width of zero
vw, vh, vmin, vmax - relative to viewport dimensions

I'm so glad I searched for this before posting it.

This is ingrained in my mind like an arcane magical spell from a forgotten time.

That was my entry point this weekend, great video!

Both of these albums are produced by "Flood", which was always this mythological name for me in the '90s. There's probably more info and videos about them floating around today, a good weekend rabbit hole to pursue.

I love music and learning how it's made, though I continue to be bad at actually making it… which is fine.

I think these videos just give me a greater appreciation for the craft, like learning how a magic trick is performed.

Sounds like a fun house rule in the making, tell a story for the card you have and see if it elicits a matching response from others (a la Dixit)

I was pushed away from CAH, too often the most vulgar card won, over being genuinely funny. "Dude" seems to require a little more empathy and engagement

Most importantly we talked through the decision making process of when to pull yarn out and start over, or when and how to salvage or accept mistakes.

I only started a year ago, and had the benefit of a friendly community to learn from. I'm happy to be able to pass that knowledge on.

My mom got me a game and called "Dude" when visiting in Europe. There's a bunch of different matching cards that have the word dude written in slightly different ways… and it was surprisingly good at getting to the nuances of the word with foreign friends.

dude
Say "dude" while listening for others who're saying "dude" like you're saying "dude."

I grew up in California in the '80-90s, this is definitely the case. I don't think I've ever called my wife honey, but I "dude" is often shared lovingly (she's not from California, but understands).

Hexic 2 HD
Catan (the Xbox version is the best digital version of the game, still!)

FWIW, the mayonnaise in the Netherlands was pretty fantastic, like genuinely a treat. In France, all the mayonnaise had dijon mustard in it and just didn't work for me.
