I’m off one of my psychiatric meds through no fault of my own (just unfortunate circumstances) and my mind is racing. I’m gonna sign off Bluesky until I’m back on my meds and in a more chill state of mind. I’m really sorry for being so inconsiderate.

Then again, that might be total pseudoscientific garbage, so take it with a grain of salt. Anyway, I’m getting off track here. The point is, it’s bullshit that we’re grown up at 18. We really only start doing that in our 20s, both physically and mentally. Try not to be afraid of the changes.

I still get the isolated facial zit from time to time, but nothing systemic. One time, I got a bunch of zits, but that’s because I was using a facial cleanser that didn’t agree with me. My hypothesis is that it was drying out my face too much, prompting my body to rapidly pump sebum into the area.

I had horrible bacne for nearly a decade before I went on HRT. My back perpetually looked like a war-torn alien planet with mountains and craters and alien bloodstains and shit. My zits had zits. 6 months after starting HRT, it was ALL gone. Vanished with nary a trace. Maybe a few light scars.

In fact, shortly after I began transitioning, I looked younger as a girl than I did as a boy immediately before transitioning because feminizing HRT is honestly the most cracked skincare item you can get. Early on, I knew nothing about skincare and still looked like a teenage girl with clear skin.

I should also note that I’m autistic, which often comes with looking significantly younger than you are. Throughout my life, I tended to look 2-6 years younger than I was depending on who and when you asked. When I left my facial hair and skin unchecked, I looked older than usual.

To all my fellow transfems who started transitioning when they basically still looked like kids or very young adults, don’t be afraid of the changes. They come for us all, and they come with perks. Same goes for cis women in their 20s tbh. People who talk about “the wall” are lowkey nonce-ish.

Not to brag, but now that I’m 27, people have stopped exclusively calling me cute and pretty and have finally started calling me things like beautiful, gorgeous, and even hot. Chappell Roan would be pleased.

I have now come to realize that these weren’t male features, they were simply features women acquire in their 20s as they mature. I wasn’t exiting girlmode and entering manmode, I was exiting girlmode and entering womanmode. Doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop saying I’m a girl though.

They also just got rid of Black History Month, Pride Month, Women’s History Month, and Holocaust Remembrance Day among others as default dates on Google Calendar.
