I’m gluten-avoidant these days, so now that I have a gf recipe, I’m unstoppable. I made two tonight.

Had to wait for my mom to be done out here so I could rock some Slapsgiving. (She cannot get over her hate of Neil Patrick Harris.)

Can we all just agree that the s2 New Girl Thanksgiving episode, where Jess tries to set a parent trap, is the best?

The Methodists here are doing really important work. Your desire to engage makes a lot of sense.

so much so that WBC-type folks have attended services to disrupt them. It’s wild. They brought in the first woman ordained at MLK’s church to speak & she left early to drive to the Everglades & protest Alligator Alcatraz.

Needless to say I’m sold.

Briefly, my story is that I peaced out on the Catholics (heritage religion) like 20 years ago, stopped in a church or two a few years later, liked nothing, then realized I should probably sit my kid through a service before attending my best friend’s son’s baptism. FUMC is near me & outwardly LGBTQ+

I had a colleague once who mentioned offhand that he played jazz in clubs. I looked him up and found he had won a Grammy. When asked WTF he was still working as a computer consultant, he replied "Do you have any idea what jazz pays?"

Shit.
Sending all of the love. Not sure if it’s any consolation that you’re not stuck in Florida, but at very least, there’s that.
