Call me a scold, but I feel the most appropriate way to support a local cartoonist after their publisher threw them under a bus to appease a foreign state’s local lobbying arm is to share the original work which includes said artist’s name, not a garbage AI “reframing” which removes that attribution

If the victims had been *anyone* other than muslims we’d have had the report injected directly into our eyes and ears within minutes, with today’s breakfast news shows live broadcasting from different eastern Sydney cafes to provide rolling updates on the respective owners’ feels.

Even our tiny business making silly beers is affected by this shit. We work with, and loudly give credit to, actual human artists who come up with incredible, original works for our can labels, so it’s beyond depressing when someone asks “ooh did you use AI?” like we should be proud if we had.
This really sucks, and we are underestimating the massive demand for AI-free *anything* out there. It's a massive cultural, political and business opportunity, though one that'll require effort and the skills of old-school journalism, verification and fact-checking
Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.
