I am a single-issue voter and that issue is the Criterion Channel on desktop can no longer Airplay to the damn TV. Why. Why is this. These movies were not made to be watched on a laptop screen.

Finally knocked Desert Hearts off the list last night as well. Really easy to fall in love with this movie even if it felt like it's rushing past a lot of the romantic development at times. That scene through the car window is magic.

First rewatch of Network in eight years (jesus) and I've no clue how this didn't make a stronger impression on me the first time. Television as a corrupting force that evaporates boiling populist anger and turns liberation movements into ratings junkies.

Late to this, but dug the hell out of Cloud (Kiyoshi Kurosawa). An unpredictable spiraling piece of nightmare logic. Everyone's just re-selling the same useless trinkets to one another and it's driving us insane.
