It's funny, I think diplos have been in the game from the beginning (or at least very early on), but they were still getting cited as one of the 'prerelease lies', just because they're relatively rare to encounter.

I still have my boxed copy of DeluxePaint Animation which was my main Christmas present in 1990. If there's a single piece of software that was the catalyst for me wanting to get into the games industry it's this.
