So I guess I've gone and drawn a political comic!

I didn't like the discussion happening around the recent protest so I wrote a minicomic about it.

There might be more. I have ideas for more.

Title: Watch your language! Keeping morale up in the fight against facism. Character A: That protest wasn't enough! We need to do more! B: Stop! This kind of talk actually hurts our cause. I know what you're trying to do. You think if you say: A: We need to do more than we did! Group, looking motivated: Ok! Let's do more! or, A: That action made a big difference. Group, walking away: Well, we did it! Everyone go home. B: People are the most motivated when they can see their actions causing an immediate change and positive effect. And they won't want to repeat actions they think didn't have a big effect. A simple graph shows a stick figure getting demotivated when the time to reach their result is too long. So this is the real effect of your words: A: We need to do more than we did! Group, concerned: That didn't do anything? Maybe my actions don't really matter... A: That action made a big difference. Group, celebrating: Maybe my actions really matter! What should we do next? The fascists WIN by making us think we are POWERLESS. It's natural to think that the perfect event, if BIG and STRONG enough, will solve everything overnight.
