Yeah…even though it‘s more work, as a GM I prefer both a breakdown of an adventure and at least one sample adventure, especially if they have unique game mechanics included. Having a one-shot or short adventure available also makes it easier to pick up and play with a new group

I think humans are fun because in heroic fantasy they feel like underdogs. It takes courage to stand alongside creatures with near-immortality, shapeshifting, inherent magic, night vision, and the ability to bend luck, and say “yeah, but they treat me like one of their own.”

Agreed. And I’ll add that if your group still wants to play D&D, you can do so without buying the latest books or adventure module. With your own creativity, using what you own, or supporting 3rd-party supplement publishers, you can play it for basically free forever
