Looking forward to it!

I fear with time, with more users and with more bots, moderation will become near impossible, but part of me still hopes that BlueSky can be different with allowing us to set up meaningful spaces for discourse (be it feeds or whatever else)

Everyday in "Discover", I see spam accounts pop up and get a lot of reposts (although much less than on Twitter). I hope at least we can improve customizing the experience here more, so we don't end with BlueSky being yet another spam and vitriol infested hell.

You are ascribing views to me that I don't have.

I just think people should have a chance to be informed. Most people don't care about most things, but if you leave Twitter because of its hellish algorithm and come to Bluesky expecting zero algorithm, then you are coming in with false expectations.

In that case it's in your best interests to inform people about how "there is no algorithm on BlueSky" is wrong.

Harder to discover interesting things on Mastodon, that is **
September 3, 2024 at 6:41 AM
I don't claim it's a good thing. It might very well turn sour, as I wrote below. Mastodon only has an off the beaten path tending page and outside of that it's all chronological. I'm on there too, and I like the philosophy more, but I also admit that it's harder to discover interesting things.

I don't want people coming in with false expectations. Your posts are being discovered through algorithms similar to other websites.

We can only hope that it doesn't turn into the absolute most evil sh*t being recommended everywhere. It seems like BlueSky (users and company) both do not want that.

The image above is from BlueSky's .social website and says:

"Your timeline, your choice

Stay focused on your friend group, keep up-to-date on the latest news, or explore with an algorithm that learns what you like. On Bluesky, there's a feed for that."

I can probably find something that can be remixed into a bizarre amalgamation. Thanks again, looks like a fantastic resource!

if you're worried about art inclusions, Exeunt Press has a great little aggregation of public domain art (www.skeletoncodemachine.com/p/public-dom...), and Itch has lots of cool public domain art too!

that said, you don't need art to post your creations – people play the text of your work!

Thanks for the link! And very true, but it's just more enticing if there is a bit to look at as well.

I will check through the resources. Maybe I can find something cool, although my specific "Bowling on a Spaceship" theme, will probably not be easy to find, haha.

Thanks, probably needed this as it popped up on my feed.
Only thing holding me back at the moment is poor looking page layout and no art (as a side effect of me not being able to do art).

But maybe I'll draw something crappy.
