damn that’s crazy, yeah lmao i definitely see where you’re coming from. i absolutely knew some folks in the linux community who would probably refuse to work with stuff like that because there are no free as in freedom programs or drivers for it. not a practical way to live

i just used enterprise as an example, but yeah there’s a ton of different situations like that where linux simply doesn’t have any acceptable programs (or any at all). *especially* specialized hardware. if you don’t mind me asking, what kind of stuff do you work on?

some distros do make it much easier to use and feel similar to mac, but the software limitations are always gonna be a huge factor.

it definitely depends on use case. for me, using linux taught me a lot about how computers and OSs work. i ended up breaking it a lot, which taught me how to fix horrible issues i caused. but yeah if you need to use some enterprise software that doesn’t support it, it’s not gonna be great. 1/
