Astros fan. Deep the heart of Seattle.
He's definitely insurance pending some other additions. Add like 7 pitchers and hope a couple work out of spring then they can DFA him.

Yeah my gut says he's not starting in the rotation unless there are spring injuries
December 11, 2025 at 10:53 PM
I also hope this isn't the case? But if he's giving us 140 from the 5 spot I guess that bodes well for health.
December 11, 2025 at 10:53 PM
I could see this. 140 feels like he's the number 5 guy for most of the season with a stint in the pen.

They link Sheehan as a possible return, which seems unlikely.
December 10, 2025 at 4:20 PM
Nah, if you zoom out a little more it's 6 players for 6 spots. And the odds of all 6 staying healthy all year are basically 0.

You could get 1 and another piece, but not both. Both would be a no brainer, and I'm against moving Paredes

There's a pretty thin line between being a gop operative and simply catering to the lowest common denominator
December 9, 2025 at 8:38 PM
"he probably won't get in on the 1st ballot because of the sign stealing scandal" was the first thing you said. That's what this thread is about.

Can you quantify it in a way that makes the distinction tangible? How many people, how many times, why the distinction makes a difference etc. Was it the effort or the effect you're trying to punish? Trying to understand why the distinction would matter for Altuve.
December 9, 2025 at 3:53 PM
Yeah if only a player saying our team cheated when I was there was enough for the league to investigate every time. You'll never have enough proof. A dozen players have all accused them of the same thing. I know you're just in denial and need to talk about the Astros to deflect.
December 9, 2025 at 6:30 AM
The royals have been too perfect of a match on this. I'll be surprised if it's anywhere else at this point.
December 9, 2025 at 5:56 AM
Other than Reddick? He was the one who was on the team first-hand who confirmed it. The other dozen or so reports were from opposing players. I get it, we don't like Fiers for the same reason.
December 9, 2025 at 5:54 AM
Your attempt to apply subjectivity to this is meaningless. Both teams broke the same rule. Altuve didn't cheat. It's likely Betts did but we'll never know for sure. This exercise of how much each team did what only further underscores the absurdity of the collective placing blanket blame on Altuve.
December 9, 2025 at 5:53 AM
This sounds a lot like "nobody takes Mike Fiers seriously 😂"

You can add all the emojis you want
December 9, 2025 at 5:31 AM
What
December 9, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Not sure why that's relevant. He knew. He didn't stop it. Same as Altuve.
December 9, 2025 at 4:20 AM
They also like to forget that a member of the 2016 dodgers said they were cheating. Nobody cared.
December 9, 2025 at 4:19 AM
I don't have to try. The dodgers cheated like half the league. You're just mad that your team cheated and still lost one season.
December 9, 2025 at 3:26 AM
In a vacuum no. His testimony is consistent with about a dozen players.
December 9, 2025 at 3:12 AM
About the dodgers cheating in 2017? Nobody has forgotten don't worry.
