Apt commemoration this sesquicentennial, tho not in the way we’d hoped…

The East Village is remembering Stella Soltowska of Ray’s Candy Store (113 Avenue A). Stella, who worked at Ray’s for nearly 50 years, died last week at age 80.

A memorial has formed outside the shop. Friends note the best way to help is to stop by and support the store.

I think the more persistent issue is how many people think Trump is awful, but delight in it because he hates the people they hate, and they would rather see people they hate being angry than repudiate a depraved person.
You’d be surprised about how many Trump voters think he is a terrible human being and president, but believe they will be better off with his tax/economic agenda.

Loved Thomas Gilbert’s 1st book, How Baseball Happened, so I’m excited to tuck into this advance bio of James Creighton, baseball’s first superstar — a pitcher whose prowess necessitated the creation of the strike zone, and a tragic figure who died mysteriously at 21. Coming March 2026 from Godine

Notes on Being a Man, and Advice for Young Men Who Are Feeling Lost — Scott Galloway - The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
I'm hoping Scott's book will act as a virtual mentor for young men who are feeling lost, stuck, angry, or despondent about the future.

This was an episode of “Smith” from 2006 where the bad guys robbed a museum and fled via the river. Kind of a reversed “ripped from the headlines”.
Alarms went off, but the thieves were already gone when the police arrived six minutes later. They fled to a nearby lake (a police dog later sniffed out the path of their moped) and escaped into Sweden’s maze of connected waterways on a waiting speedboat.

Taylor Swift collab with AC/DC’s Angus Young? Please no.
Jacket doesn't fit. Bluchers/derbies instead of oxfords with a suit is a formality mismatch. No comment on the schoolboy look.
