Enraged by the callous treatment of so many people, Mira, a former slave himself, shoots the estate manager in the back, blowing a hole in his spine and letting him fall into the pit, still alive. The estate itself is sprawling, covering a large swathe of an entire continent, so this pit has been filled in a remote part, surrounded by kilometres of forest. It is a beautiful part of the countryside, besmirched by atrocity.

However, when he chooses to let that façade slip, his true nature is far more cold and disturbing, and those eyes reflect a chilling disregard for any kind of life. He has aged well, with a full head of grey hair, and wears a pair of spectacles. In this image, he is smoking a cigarette and he holds a bloodied axe hang by his side, his preferred method of punishment. Affixing the viewer with that cold, reptilian gaze, there is the sense that he is sizing you up, and seeing nothing but raw meat.

It is a normal street with coffee shops and fast food restaurants, but it is completely abandoned. The detritus of everyday life remains: food is left uneaten, shopping bags lie where they were dropped and a baby's pram lies empty and unattended, something which sends a shiver down the spine of Akari. One of her medical colleagues scans the area, attempting to pick up any traces of pathogens, but none have been currently found.

One look into his eyes suggests he is a figure to be wary of, as they blaze with an analytical ferocity. The unprepared can wilt under that examining stare. He had always been a lean figure, but recent years have seen him get a little more portly. But still, despite his calculating nature, he appears very different in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren, where he reverts to a very caring, grandfatherly appearance.
