Our friends turned the meal train from their first kid into a standing Monday night potluck. It fluctuates in attendance but it’s become a nice thing to look forward to. We recently started our own version of that on fridays but have so far only invited the friends with kids as a test drive

This is what they’re trained to do. “Better training” has not made regular cops less violent despite billions in funding, and we should stop attributing ICE’s actions to a lack of training.

The other week i walked down a block with some newish townhomes with a small setback from the sidewalk, and at least 3 different doorbell cameras lit up and started blasting an automated “YOU ARE BEING RECORDED” message. Like how do people live like this

Seems to have developed millennia before English or Latin existed, and other methods of categorizing words specifically were preferred until indexes became common scholarly tools. Cyphers/codes in general are highly reliant on established alphabetical orders so their development also had an impact
