Just read a fantastic paper showing how dendritic morphology defines local computational subunits—letting neurons process synaptic input locally before it ever reaches the soma.
Dendrites are the brain of the neuron. 🧠✨

Dendritic plasticity in the retrosplenial cortex plays a key role in linking contextual memories formed close in time. This study reveals how overlapping neuronal ensembles & branch-specific plasticity integrate memories. doi.org/10.1038/s415... #Neuroscience #Memory #Dendrites
Compartmentalized dendritic plasticity in the mouse retrosplenial cortex links contextual memories formed close in time - Nature Neuroscience
Sehgal et al. show that branch-specific dendritic plasticity mechanisms in the retrosplenial cortex link memories acquired close in time such that, unlike independent memories, linked memories are encoded by many of the same dendritic branches.

How to migrate from X to Bluesky without losing your followers
This extension lets you easily migrate your follows and block list from X (formerly Twitter) to Bluesky, but you need to act fast because its functionality may be short-lived. Here's why.

@marius10p.bsky.social lab. Same visual stim different neuron activation (video),but the mouse visual cortex achieves exceptional precision in encoding, with thresholds as low as 0.3°.The bottleneck? Downstream decoders, not cortical 'noise.' 🧠✨ #Neuroscience #VisualCortex doi.org/10.1101/679324
