This is hilarious
I am testing out the GPT-5 models for our RAG apps, and I'm impressed so far: gpt-5-mini avoided a hallucination that every other model generated. Much better for a RAG app to say it doesn't know than to hallucinate!

There are a lot of *interesting* hot takes on Pope Leo XIV.

Many of them are bemoaning an "American Pope" b/c of Trump.

I understand. I feel you.

But PLEASE... take a moment to look at the man's history.

He is NOT the American that Trump & Vance wanted as Pope.

So I was thinking earlier today about how my oven has a window that we can see inside. The microwave has a mesh window to see inside as well. Washer and dryer also has a window... but dish washing machine... what the heck is going on inside? It's a mystery!

The Trump Admin Thinks Affordable Fiber Broadband Is ‘Woke’

This is great, and I agree with Strauss. The last couple of years have been nothing more than an AI hype train. If Google Maps were released today, everyone would say it's some crazy AI breakthrough! www.pcgamer.com/software/ai/...
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick takes a moment to remind us once again that 'there's no such thing' as artificial intelligence
Zelnick believes AI is just a digital tool, "and we've used digital tools forever."

The major thing is, everyone is awaiting the case to be tried in court. Once that starts up, the news will be everywhere. MSM will never miss out on opportunity to glue eye balls to screens to display advertising.
It's a common refrain on Reddit that there's no news on Luigi Mangione and this must be a conspiracy by the media. This ignores the fact that he's in prison and they aren't allowing journalists in - kind of.

Thanks to the @prisonjournalism.bsky.social there is a journo on the inside.

Would love to hear your experience! I have my own personal frustration about how billing works.
What @mcuban.bsky.social said!!!!!

As a medical professional, the things I could tell you about how foul it is dealing with #insurance would blow your damn mind.
The facts are, the ACA saved millions with pre-existing conditions and set standards for care.

But now, more than a decade later, with what we now know, it’s time to take the insurance companies out of the mix.
The subsidies they get are enormous. We don’t need them as middlemen.

Apple released the summarization thing way too early without thoroughly testing it. I do believe it comes down to they needed to rush something out the door. All the Apple Intelligence ads on TV and nothing to show for is putting Tim Apple (Cook) on the line.
This is my periodic rant that Apple Intelligence is so bad that today it got every fact wrong its AI a summary of @washingtonpost.com news alerts.

It's wildly irresponsible that Apple doesn't turn off summaries for news apps until it gets a bit better at this AI thing.

I love Bluesky. Needs more users that I like to follow in X, but I feel like this platform has reached critical mass it needs.

X has ~18m daily USA users. @bsky.app, ~1.5m.

Is it worth 20 MINS a day to proactively recruit and bring your friends, neighbors, relatives, businesses, anyone who is or could be a user, to @bsky.app?

If Bluesky ends up with more users than the others, you destabilize musk, zuck, trump.

Until we have data privacy laws enacted, banning TikTok wont dont anything. Chinese can already buy all the data from data brokers
U.S. Supreme Court agrees to fast-track #TikTok case: oral arguments Jan. 10, nine days before app ban: www.nytimes.com/2024/12/18/u...

Any outcome leaves us with same propertarian internet. I argue a global commons for public data collaboration is the way forward: foreignpolicy.com/2024/08/27/b...
Banning TikTok Won’t Keep Your Data Safe
