No kings but Sac Kings

📍Sacramento
*Especially* love this part — you can help break apart the doom-loop and build momentum for electoral reform.

Even in threatening Senator Kelly with persecution for telling the truth, the administration can't help confirming exactly what Kelly said

Pretty embarrassing that the new @postopinions.bsky.social can't even defend the memory of their murdered colleague without kissing Trump's butt

Yet another "Sacramento grows, rest of California shrinks" headline.

Here is what the area immediately around Sac Sate looks like. Notice anything?

Struggling to find a more "plain language" way to explain condo defect reform in a presentation and this is the best I can come up with. But curious if others have ideas? (CC: @muhammadspeaks.bsky.social)

And this entire campaign was built on what appear to be total falsehoods about trees. The vast majority of native oaks on the site will be permanently conserved!

With all due respect, if you are an environmental group and this is your headline issue in 2025 you have gone very, very far astray

I'm genuinely not trying to fight with you, Will. Truly, good faith: would love to know how you reconcile the FHFA data that says housing costs have shot up everywhere with the relatively small change in housing spend/income unless it's people consuming less housing? www.fhfa.gov/hpi/download...
November 19, 2025 at 1:06 AM
Anyway, in case anyone's curious — including @whstancil.bsky.social! — here's the actual data for how much home prices have increased over the last five years. Even Minneapolis isn't immune!

I'm pretty sure all of this is explained by Stancil living in one of the very few cities where housing is genuinely not a crisis...

Catch this delightful description of @scottwiener.bsky.social in @jetjocko.bsky.social's brilliantly written summary of California's earthquake moment on housing.

Really superb profile of the revolution: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

More evidence for the “s-curve” theory of housing politics. Everywhere is going to have to make the hard transition from NIMBY to YIMBY. California is fast approaching the top of the curve, New York’s somewhere in the middle.

Chicago, sadly, still pretty close to the bottom.

Just logged on to vichy twitter out of curiosity and, yep, not a whiff of Epstein anywhere.

I'm sure this is completely on the level!

There are clear policies to fight climate change. And equally good ones on affordability.

Thankfully though, we don't have to choose. They're the same policies:
1. Legalize infill, multi-family housing in every city.
2. Streamline renewable energy & storage.
3. Invest in good, reliable transit.

Even if he does this, an oil company would have to navigate literally hundreds of Byzantine state and local hurdles for every other aspect of making drilling happen. Every terminal, every support dock, every mile of pipeline. In 36 months.

Good luck!

First photo is Friday, second photo is today.

I know modular has a thousand obstacles still, but we really could end the housing crisis in a year if we truly wanted to

This is extremely catty, but the Free Press, which is ostensibly worth $150 million, has some pretty weak sauce "like & comment" numbers.

@jvl.bsky.social and @thebulwark.com have like 3-4x their engagement

"Yes, Spanberger won by 15+ points but that's nothing compared to Youngkin's <2% squeaker because woke."
November 5, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Spanberger is on track to win by 12-15 points, which would be the largest win by a Democrat in Virginia since 1961 (which is to say, since racial partisan realignment).

I love the beam so dang much. I don’t care that it’s probably better for the team to lose at this point. Still glorious, every single time.

Go Kings.

TRUMP: By passing a law that does not mention the word "tariffs," Congress intended to give me limitless tariff powers.
CONGRESS: No we fucking didn't!

We'll see who SCOTUS agrees with next week!

Good luck explaining this one to your 2009 self
