Things Democratic Senators could do that would be useful:

- Withdraw unanimous consent from all Senate business until constitutional rule was restored

- Refuse to vote for any legislation until constitutional rule was restored

- Boycott as a caucus until constitutional rule was restored

This Speaker vote should remind all of us that literally nothing Republicans try to do will be easy, or a foregone conclusion. And often, they are going to have to come to Democrats to enact anything at all. We have lost power but we are not powerless.

Last night I finished Mirrored Heavens and if you STILL aren’t reading Rebecca Roanhorse what are you doing?????? That was such a satisfying end to an epic fantasy series and the relationship between gods, magic, and man is one that I keep thinking about.

It’s reading round-up time! Even with some long and complicated health issues that made reading difficult this year, I (mostly) read some incredible books this year and wanted to share my highlights!

When I see teens or college students on BookTok complaining that a book in a specific genre uses that genre’s tropes… so it’s a knockoff… because it follows the genre conventions and expectations… and therefore should be boycotted??? My eyes start to twitch out of my head
