From a Christian perspective, loving your immediate family is a given. Something that’s expected of all humans. But Christian love - almost by definition - reaches beyond the immediate family. (FYI JD Vance)

I feel genuinely sorry for people who don’t have anyone in their lives who are not biological relatives but who are every bit as “family” as family. These are surely the richest of relationships.
