I recommend Rain by Jocelyn Samara, not because I think it's necessarily more profound, but it's the best media I've consumed, possibly due to alot of personal experiences and lack thereof. I still recommend it, but I unfortunately haven't read stuff like Maus.
And some of those book FUCKED ME UP. I cried for days. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!

Cold hearted implies a necessity for heart. Even were we androids, as a social species, we require empathy to survive. Not just for "those who can't get ahead otherwise", but all of us. Diversity strengthens ideas, stories, work, everything necessary like scientific progress.
Conservatives need to kill empathy. Otherwise they could not enact their cold hearted agenda.
