Podcaster, Fantasticast host, comics and Doctor Who fan. Brit abroad in Belgium. Barely making it past lunch.
This is the second person who has signed up to improv after coming to see one of my shows. I can’t help but feel a little proud…

Damn, I am delighted to see this! The one true anniversary celebration!

If we include the video version, shot in a pub with Benedict on lead vocals, then we’re definitely into triple figures. I think I actually prefer it to the album version, it’s that good.

My first time ever there was getting off the Thalys on the lowest level, and ascending through the levels via escalator as the station unfolded above and around me. I went from 'boring urban platforms' to 'the greatest station I've ever been to' across three minutes.

It’s horrific. First time since the year I was in Belgium due to Covid that I won’t have BBC1 on at all, I think.

I'm almost intimidated at the thought of finally seeing it performed, but that's outweighed by my excitement.

Earlier this year, the small play-reading group I'm a part of in Ghent chose Arcadia to read, and sharing my love of the play with my friends and keeping the surprises, especially the structure of the climax of the play, secret from them so they could discover them organically was a real delight.

I've lost count of the times that I've re-read it. Quotes (We shed as we pick up...), imagery (un-stirring jam in rice pudding), and more have lived in my head for 25 years. I completely missed the 2009 revival. I've listened to the BBC adaptation of the play, with the original cast, many times.

I was introduced to the play during my A-Levels, around 1999-2000. It was the most contemporary thing on the syllabus, and something of a joy to unpack week after week in class. I have owned a copy of the play ever since, although my original copy, with all my notes in, went missing a while back.

Is it wrong that I recognised the station from Slow Horses? Also, welcome to the ‘I saw Mark in Stroud’ club!

Isn't it just? Was able to co-ordinate my in-UK travel to catch it a couple of weeks ago, it was absolutely magnificent.

Fantastic, thank you!

Will they be included on the YDTM podcast feed? Recent-ish changes have made it harder to listen to stuff on catch-up from outside the UK...
